About the Governance of Infrastructure dataset

Welcome to the OECD dataset on the Governance of Infrastructure.

This dataset contains the results of the 2016 OECD Survey on Infrastructure Governance, which provides users with a unique resource on the governance of infrastructure and PPPs in OECD countries.

The database maps out how countries have organised the governance of infrastructure, inlcuding the institutional roles, procedures, assessment tools and related issues.

The dataset provides information on the following matters:

  • Section 1. Overview of the institutional framework
  • Section 2. Planning and prioritization
  • Section 3. Project development
  • Section 4. Choosing the delivery modality
  • Section 5. Tendering and contracting
  • Section 6. Budgeting, accounting and audit practices
  • Section 7. The operational phase of the asset
  • Section 8. Corruption
  • Section 9. Infrastructure investment data

The information held in the database is made available free of charge. However, the data are protected by copyright and we request that you cite the OECD as the source (OECD (2016), OECD Survey of Infrastructure Governance). Furthermore, to help us track the impact, we would appreciate receiving electronic copies of any papers that cite the database, to be sent to: Bonifacio Agapin (Publications Coordinator).

About the Survey

The 2016 OECD survey was conducted by the Budgeting and Public Expenditures Division of the OECD Directorate for Public Governance.

Respondents to the questionnaire were predominately senior officials in the central/federal ministry of finance, as well as in other relevant line ministries.

The results were presented at the 10th Annual Network Meeting of Senior Infrastructure and PPP Officials on 21 March 2017. The OECD has conducted extensive quality control of the responses in order to ensure consistency and reliability.
