Welcome to the OECD Public integrity indicators database which contains the results of the 2020 OECD Quality of Strategic Framework survey. The database provides countries with an overview of their strategic framework of their public integrity system.
This database is made available free of charge. However, data is protected by copyright and we kindly request that you cite the OECD as the source when using this data (OECD Public Integrity Indicators Portal). To help us better track use of this database, we would appreciate receiving electronic copies of any papers that cite the database (publicintegrityindicators@oecd.org).
The content of the database was collected using an online questionnaire and a glossary was also provided. The OECD conducted this survey as part of the third principle out of the thirteen that encompass the Public Integrity Indicators. Data were collected through a questionnaire based on the OECD Quality of Strategic Framework indicators to which 24 OECD countries and one OECD key partner (Brazil) responded. Respondents were senior officials responsible for integrity policies in central government. This set of indicators, was developed to measure the OECD Recommendation on Public Integrity. This work benefits from extensive collaboration with the Task Force on Public Integrity Indicators consisting of nine members of the Working Party of Senior Public Integrity Officials.
The 2020 dataset on the Quality of Strategic Framework provides information on the following topics:
***Disclaimer: The current database only comprises a selection of questions from the 2020 OECD Public integrity indicators on quality of strategic framework. The selection contains only those questions published in the OECD Government at a Glance 2021 edition.***
The content of the database draws upon primary data sources provided by governments, which was later assessed and validated by the OECD with the respective countries. Data refer mostly to central/federal governments and exclude the subnational level.
Preliminary results were presented at the 2021 OECD Global Anti-Corruption & Integrity Forum, 23-25 March 2021. The OECD has conducted extensive data cleaning and quality control of the responses in order to ensure consistency and reliability. The answers have also been validated by countries. In case of remarks or questions related to the answers in the database, please contact: Jesper Johnson or Santiago Wortman Jofre.
