The content of the 2022 database was collected using an online questionnaire and a glossary was also provided.
The 2022 dataset provides information on practices across the four building blocks:
The 2022 database comprises responses from 36 OECD countries1 and the data refers only to central/federal government practices as of 30 June 2022. Respondents were predominantly budget officials within central budget authorities. The content of the database draws heavily upon self-reporting from governments representing the country’s own assessment of current practices and procedures. The OECD conducted a data cleaning process to check for internal and external consistency and reliability in the survey responses.
Preliminary results were presented at the Meeting of the OECD Paris Collaborative on Green Budgeting in November 2022.
